SECOND ANNUAL KNITTING & CROCHETING RETREAT
APRIL 16, 17, 18, 2010
LODGE AT GENEVA ON THE LAKE

Dinner on Saturday evening and brunch buffet on Sunday included. On your own for all other meals. For Friday night dinner, a group excursion will be part of the agenda. A Saturday afternoon trip to a local winery will also be planned. Bring your knitting and/or crocheting!

There will be plenty of time for knitting and/or crocheting by the fire, exploring Ohio’s wine country, walking along the lakeshore, beachcombing (weather permitting), knitting instruction (classes to be determined) and fun! Two-nighters will have a class on Saturday morning as well as the class on Sunday after brunch.

Come relax and take advantage of all the Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake has to offer (indoor pool and hot tub, work-out room, game room, bicycle rental, great restaurant and more).

Not just for knitters and crocheters. Feel free to bring your significant other along! They can find plenty to do while we knit or crochet!

Driving directions and retreat schedule will be provided prior to the event.

Register by stopping in or calling Cast On Café at 440-946-9276.

Registrations MUST be received and paid in full by March 16, 2010!

COMPLETE AGENDA AVAILABLE AT THE SHOP!

AFGHAN-A-GO-GO

Here’s how it works (A.K.A. rules): READ THE RULES AND UNDERSTAND THEM BEFORE JOINING! NO EXCEPTIONS!
1. NO complaining, whining, moaning or other unbecoming behavior allowed.

2. NO returns or exchanges. If you receive a pattern you don’t care for, make something else. Otherwise, see rule 1.

3. NO refunds. Once you are a paid member, you are a paid member. If this is a problem, see rule 1.

4. Patterns will be given on the last Tuesday of each month. If you can’t come to the meetings, pick-up your package AFTER the LAST Tuesday. If this is a problem, see rule 1.

5. Yarn, pattern and all other selections are at the sole discretion of Cast On Café. Don’t like this? By now you should know to see rule 1.

6. Know how to knit before joining the club. If you don’t know how to knit, TAKE THE CLASS! What part of rule 1 don’t you understand!? (This is a rhetorical question – answer only to yourself.)

7. If you want to take advantage of the club but cannot attend the scheduled meetings, join anyway. Free assistance is always available, except during scheduled class times. At this point, there should be no need to mention rule 1.

8. HAVE FUN!!!! Rule 1 should make this possible.

CHARITY KNIT
Knit a baby or security blanket for charity. Blankets will be donated to Providence House, a shelter for children in need. This pattern is quick and simple. Use leftover yarn or stop in Cast On Cafe to pick up some donated yarn for the project. A big THANKS! to Jean Stokes for sharing the pattern.

If you are searching for other charity knitting projects, try Faith, Hope and Charity Stitches.

Bernice Rhode is collecting scarves, hats and mittens for children (and adults) on the near-westside of Cleveland. If you'd rather knit for this charity, that would be great! Just drop off your creations at Cast On Cafe. I'll make sure Bernice receives them all. Gently worn toys will also be put to good use!
